1. Pep Guardiola
Of late, Manchester City is against many football predictions gradually trending upwards. Though the fans had several reasons to worry as soon as the season started, once John Stones and Ruben Dias formed a strong partnership, they are quite strong at their front.
The due credit must be given to Pep Guardiola who sensibly controlled the backline and seems to do an amazing job. He has been the manager of the team since the 2016/17 campaign.
The Spanish coach initially dealt to replace Manuel Pellegrini and officially received the charge during the summer after signing off from Bayern Munich.
Back in his days as a player, Guardiola spent most of his career time at Barcelona. He has also played for Brescia, Al-Ahlim, Roma and Dorados de Sinaloa for a brief time.
He has won six La Liga titles, European Cup and also the Olympic gold. He started his journey as a head coach at the Barcelona B team back in 2007. By achieving promotions, he quickly escalated to the rank of senior manager.
He lifted the first trophy as the manager in England with a 3-0 victory over Arsenal back in 2018 at the Carabao Cup final.
2. Jurgen Klopp
Joined back in 2015, Jugen Klopp is the active football head coach of Liverpool. This is his 6th Premier League season and that he continued to coach the team for such a long time vouches for his amazing capabilities.
Klopp made an appearance as a player in over 300 games. He started and finished his professional career in Germany’s second tier - at FSV Mainz 05.
After coaching Bundesliga Mainz for a brief time period, Klopp had to depart at the end of 2006. In 2008, he was appointed as the manager of Borussia Dortmund. After his consistent effort, the team finished in 13th rank in the Bundesliga during the season 2007-2008.
He led the Reds to the final of the UEFA Europa League during 2015-2016. Then he also led them to the UEFA champions league in the year 2017-2018. Though the team was defeated in both matches, Klopp’s reputation increased with time. In the entire 2018/19 season, Klopp’s team Reds finished a point behind the champion Manchester City.
Surely, Jurgen Klopp has more to bring to the table and stun Liverpool’s fans. Time will tell whether he can get them the Premier League cup. But there’s no doubt about his capabilities in strategic sports.
3. Frank Lampard
No Premier League list is complete without a mention of Chelsea. Frank Lampard was the head coach of Chelsea during 2019 and 2021. As a player in his time, he has helped the Irons to the highest-ever finish in the entire competition. Earlier, he has won three Premier League titles, two League Cups, four FA Cups and the UEFA Champions league.
During his first season in charge, the strategic manager has guided the Blues to finish in fourth place. He also ensured another UEFA champions league campaign. He has been nominated for the Barclays Manager of 2019-2020 season award.
In spite of starting with an added boost in the 2020-2021 campaign, Chelsea’s form dropped a bit during the festival period and the tenure with Lampard ended on 25th January 2021. His team finished in the ninth position.
After Lampard, Thomas Tuchel is awarded the position of manager at Chelsea. While the personal achievements of the German football coach speak volume of his quality, his success in bringing Chelsea up in the Premier League table is yet to be tested.
4. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed as the manager of Manchester United in March 2019. He spent 11 seasons at Old Trafford. During this long span, he scored 91 goals in about 235 Premier League matches and also won six PL titles.
In December of 2018, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was confirmed as the caretaker manager of Manchester United and remained for the rest of the season.
After winning 10 matches out of 13 in the Premier League along with a comeback victory against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League, the head coach was rewarded with a whopping 3 years deal with the team.
Right after starting as the manager, he brought Manchester United to finish in third place and secured UEFA Champions League qualification during the 2020-2021 campaign.
Can he continue to do wonders? Time will tell!
